				| Hi All,
I installed MQ v 9.0.04 and while running mqconfig few parameters failed (no files. I tried to set the values in /etc/security/limits.conf as below.

 mqm soft nofile 10240
 mqm hard nofile 10240

But still mqconfig is failing for nofile. I already have a QM running. Is it because of that? Sorry i cant delete QM to check as its work related server.
 Thanks in advance.

				| And as which user are you running mqconfig? _________________
It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys.

				| Did you log off and log back on again to mqm? (or su or sudo) ulimit -a command shows your logon shell limits.
You'll need to restart the qmgr for changes to take effect on the qmgr processes.

BTW, are you experiencing any FDCs or errors related to MQ unable to open files or allocate file descriptors? If not, you are probably in no immediate danger.

				| Well, it was my mistake. I had run it as a different user. When i ran mqconfig as mqm user, i could see all IBM reccommendations as PASS. Thank you all for sparing your time to help me. | |
