				Hi,

I am having a problem where I have installed the WMQI 2.1 software, and all the execution groups seem to give a segmentation fault, even if I run them without parameters.

Has anyone seen this before?

Also, when we apply maintenance i.e. CSD04, in pkginfo it suggests that the maintenance is for Solaris 7 which seems wrong.

Any pointers would be most gratefully received. |

				kuli_s,

First, make sure your Solaris kernel is set properly for MQ/WMQI(from the install manual):

Figure 1 shows the recommended Kernel parameter values on a Solaris 2.8

system.

set lwp_default_stksize = 0x4000

set rpcmod:svc_run_stksize = 0x4000

set shmsys:shminfo_shmmax = 4194304

set shmsys:shminfo_shmseg = 1024

set shmsys:shminfo_shmmni = 1024

set shmsys:shminfo_shmmin = 8

set semsys:seminfo_semaem = 16384

set semsys:seminfo_semmni = 1024 (semmni < semmns)

set semsys:seminfo_semmap = 1026 (semmni +2)

set semsys:seminfo_semmns = 16384

set semsys:seminfo_semmsl = 125

set semsys:seminfo_semopm = 100

set semsys:seminfo_semmnu = 2048

set semsys:seminfo_semume = 256

set semsys:seminfo_semvmx = 32767

set msgsys:msginfo_msgmap = 1026

Most of the above settings should have been done for the MQ install.

I have had issues related to segmentation faults on Solaris 8, but it was with MQSI Version 2.0.

Certain issues related to segmentation faults and WMQI can also be sensitive to the patch levels on Solaris. _________________ Regards,

Make sure you have loaded both db2 and wmqi profiles for your user id when operating with wmqi objects. We had similar problems when db2 profile was not loaded.
