All,
Got a question for ya .
IS MQ PCF comands supported on MQ 5.2 on OS/390 . I am trying to
write a program to monitor queues on MVS using this . Just like to know is it feasible to do this using PCF on MVS.
Also in which manual was it stated whether its supported or NOT ....
Hope i wont get a -ve answer ..

Hi:
Yes you can send PCF's in OS/390, but for Q statics, it's better, use the MQINQ. You can uses the CSQUTIL utility , too. |

I posted the same question on the MQSeries API support thread , there
i got a reply saying " its not supported ... "
Is there an manual or something where we can look at it ...
I will be using MQSERIES 5.2 on OS/390... pls confirm

Have a look at Chapter 6 (Topic Other Administration Interfaces->MQSeries for OS/390) in MQSeries Programmable System Management manual. It says..

LuisFer, you can send PCF commands to OS/390 but you will get a reason code of 3001 because MQ for OS/390 does NOT support PCF commands.
Note: There is (was) at least one software vendor who sold a PCF server for OS/390 but I don't remember who that was (or if they still support the product).

In the OS/390 i use the CSQUTIL utility to obtain the data. |
