/usr/mqm/samp/bin directory is empty in AIX MQ 6.0.2.2 installation.

Can i download those and add it in bin directory? |

Why not add them as part of the installation? They're optional components; rerun your install and add them.

And are they not in /opt/mqm/samp/bin anyway? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Yes, some Unix platforms use /opt/mqm, some use /usr/mqm.

Regardless, <mqm>/samp is only populated , including <mqm>/samp/bin, if you install the samples. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

				| If you have another AIX installation with the sample files, you can copy or ftp them. Otherwise, as earlier mentioned, you'll have to use the installation routine to get them. |

Did you find this out the hard way and actually copy them over and receive successful results? |

I've done it many times. So long as both machines are Solaris (and it doesn't seem to matter what version of Solaris), copying the sample programs works just fine. I don't know about other OS flavors.

It's really common for me to find a client machine from which I need to do an amqsputc & amqsgetc, and the samples aren't there. I've also had to copy them to machines with MQ server installed, because some trout-worthy admin did not choose "sample programs" during the installation. |
