One transports messages the other doesn't. But does a lot more other things, including transport information.

Hi,
I usually tell beginners....in basic terms, MQ is for transportation, and MB is for transformation.

You might want to search for the WMQ Primer on this site. I'm sure there is a link.
As far as more info, I always say that WMQ delivered messages. It wasn't concerned with the actual contents.
The Broker actually looked at the contents and did things with it.
This is a very simplistic view.... |

Broker sits on top of MQ...so to say you can think of Broker as adding intelligence to MQ...in terms of Messages...not Transportation
