Hi all,
I installed MQ ver 6.0.1.1 on my machine. I tried to open MQ explorer.Its not opening and generating an error and creating an FDC. Can anyone please help how to resolve this..
here are the descriptions of error and FDC!!!

Is the user xyzz in the mqm group? If there are queue managers on the local machine then the Explorer will be trying to query mq for a list of local queue managers, and the user requires the appropriate authorities for this to work (and being in the mqm group is the easist first step).
Secondly have you tried launching the explorer with:
strmqcfg -i (which won't launch the explorer, but will re-intialise the workspace)
then launch in the normal way.
If this doesn't work, please can you confirm exactly what steps you went through to install is this installed "Explorer only" or a full queue manager install on the machine.

hi steve,
Thanks for your quick response.
I have the user uner MQM groups.
I have the message broker V6 installed on my machine . everything seems to work. Queue managers and config managers are runnig properly.
When I tried to issue the command strmqcfg -c for clearing the cache or strmqcfg - i , it says unable to locate 'eclipse'.
I have an eclipse installed though. Is that mean I have to set the path somewhere?
Need your help , thanks. |

MQ Explorer only works with a specific version of eclipse (3.1?)
You need to make sure that this is the one you are using when starting MQExplorer.

As fjb_saper said, for the standard install to work with the strmqcfg command, you will need to have the version of eclipse that is supplied on the MQ CD's installed, specifically this is version 3.0.1 of eclipse, but you will have to have used to installer from the CD because this installer puts the appropriate registry / rpm entries in place.
It is possible after install to import the MQ plug-ins into the broker workbench, and then you can access the Explorer by launching the broker toolkit and then switching to the MQ Explorer perspective.
Given the "cannot local 'eclipse'" error message, it would look like you do not have the pre-req installed at the moment, or have now uninstalled it?

If I try to Install the eclipse 3.0.1 version, will my mQ explorer work?
My message broker V6 already have eclipse version 3.0.2 in it and its working fine.
How could I make this work so that I can see MQ explorer perspective on my broker toolkit.
Can anyone provide me some instructions how to do it?

You have to install the IBMEclipseSDk 3.0 to get the MQ Explorer to work.
Then, the easiest way to install the MQ Explorer into your Broker Toolkit is to point at the EclipseSDK install folder as a local update site.
The second easiest way is to copy the links folder, and the com.ibm.mq folders from plugins and features - but only from the Eclipse folder, not from the MQExplorer folder.
If you point the local update site at the MQ Explorer folder, it will copy *all* the plugins. If you point it at the Eclipse folder, it will only copy the "linked" versions, so you'll save a bit of disk space.
