				| Hi,
I have a developer who has 5000 messages on a queue and is browsing through it deleting bad messages. The platform is NT and it is MQ 5.2

He is finding that the browse is very fast, but when he tries to get the message with a receive with a selector on the msgid it is very slow (10 seconds).

Can anyone suggest if there is a better way of doing this ?

 Many thanks,

 Tim.

				| How much ram is on the system ??? is it possible that it's paging out to the swapfile ????Are they persistent messages, (assuming circular logging) if so are the logs big enough to handle the messages, easy check to see if the total number of logs = #of Primary+Secondary and also the date/time stamp if it is going through the logs real quick then MQSeries will start checkpointing and this slows the queue manager performance.

One other concern is syncpoint being used ???

				| That seems like a VERY long time.... is there a difference between selecting the first message and the last message? | |
