I am running queue manager on UNIX which connects to a mainframe.

I want to administer that queue manager from a Windows PC.

Should I define separate channels, queues to the windows PC from UNIX.

If I need to provide authorization then which user of windows should be mapped on in UNIX to the mqm group.

Please advise. |

How are you planning on doing this? Are you going to use runmqsc commands or use MQ Explorer? In either case you need to have windows user-id defined on UNIX box or set MCA user-id on channel. _________________ Kiran

				| I am not going to use runmqsc just to monitor the queue manager from the MQ Explorer. |

You can use ALTER CHANNEL command to change the MCAUSER attribute on an existing channel.

If you are using runmqsc for remote administration, System admin guide has a detailed explanation on how to do this. Refer to chapter 6. _________________ IBM Certified System Administrator - Websphere MQ V5.3 |
