You are not allowed to have a SELECT in the FROM clause. It's fine in the SELECT list clause and in the WHERE clause, but the FROM clause can only contain Field References to Databases or Message Trees as shown in the docs (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSMKHH_10.0.0/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/ak05620_.htm?lang=en)
