So I am getting the impression that I completely misinterpreted some of this...

Thread per core => is this a zOS setup or a zLinux setup?
Core per socket => are we talking about CPU socket or network socket?
socket per book => obviously some zOS measure...

So with your 25 TPS did you at least manage to determine whether your flow was
  • CPU starved
  • IO starved
  • waiting on other resources like db2, etc...

What does your zLinux box report at full load??
