Yes - check what the HA manual & the support pac say on the subject regarding the HA configuration you're using.

Why do we need to keep the channel initiator running all the time?
AFAIK Its task is to start the channel and the listener job is to tell the channel initiator that there is a message on the XMITQ.
So after the channel initiator startes the channel its job is done and it can go back to sleep...
This way we will never be able to see the channel initiator running unless we probe in at the time of action.

Because it is a daemon process that spawns off the actual channel process when it starts a channel?
