All, we have the channel triggering problem with the following version on AIX 5.3
mqm@d63n03:/home/mqm $ dspmqver
Name: WebSphere MQ
Version: 6.0.2.1
CMVC level: p600-201-070307
BuildType: IKAP - (Production)
Messages arrive on the XMTIQ and channel doens't get triggered? I can manually start the channel all runs ok. After finding this post I set the trigger data to the name of the channel and hey presto channel triggered ok! I think I need to raise this with IBM. |
Did you check no other channels map to the same XMITQ?
Still I would not rely on this 'feature' and properly set the TRIGDATA field... _________________ Michael

Michael,
No other channels map to the xmitq.
We've been using this without setting the trigger data in V 5.3 quite happily. looks like me might have to revert back to setting the trigger data
Thats a lot of XMITQs to change though. _________________ Regards

you can still report it to IBM as a PMR, since what used to work is now broken... _________________ Michael

I intend to.....
In anycase though I do like the idea of setting the trigger data parameter as that way it should always work _________________ Regards

I have seen this happen once or twice. It might have something to do with shared memory. If you bounce the qmgr and clear the shared memory while it is down you should be able to restart it and the expected behavior for channel start will reassert itself...
