Under migration development resources section of iib9 infocenter i see the following

am able to deploy from iib9 toolkit to a v8 broker!!! |

| even with MB explorer 9 i can connect to v8 broker. Wasnt there a restriction either in the toolkit or explorer that you cannot connect to a older version broker? |

And why should you not be able to? You can perfectly deploy V8 bar files to a V8 broker using IIB9 Broker Explorer... The restriction AFAIK applies to resources compiled at a higher level being deployed at a level lower than the compile level...

| Maybe I wasn't clear. I am able to deploy a v9 compiled flow to v8 broker from v9 toolkit. |

| i can drag a flow and deploy to v8 broker EG and also deploy a v9 bar to v8 broker. |

| There is a check box on the BAR to tell it to compile ESQL and stuff. Probably works because it is compiles at the broker and not Toolkit. |
