TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Extensive technical knowledge of Websphere MQ with a minimum of 5 years experience in building, configuring & tuning MQ on a z/OS platform (z/OS experience is Mandatory)
Experience with Websphere MQ on distributed platforms (preferred but not mandatory)
Knowledge of SMP/e with proven experience of mainframe software upgrades
Exposure to RACF, ACF2 or Top Secret security products with ability to design optimal security solutions for subsystems & applications
Detailed knowledge of the technology including different queue types and possesses the ability to advise IT Development teams on the correct solution with respect to WebsphereMQ.
Perform end to end subsystem and application diagnostics
Strong JCL /SDSF skills
Familiarity with monitoring products, eg. Omegamon, Mainview, ITCam
Experience with other Mainframe technologies such as CICS, IMS or DB2 is beneficial.
Role Requirements:
Strong team player & willingness to train junior team members
Provide out of hours on-call support on the team rota ( could be once in two weeks or once a month depending on the size of the team)-not on a daily basis
Strong interpersonal skills, commitment to and good understanding of customer service requirements
Ensure best practices for MQ environment are in place and adhered to.
Project management skills
Works on own initiative
Development & maintenance of compliance and operational documentation for Websphere MQ |
