As part of an investigation into an issue with characters not being converted correctly, I need to see the CCSID that was used when a message was put onto a queue. The problem is that the CCSID value shown to me by MQMON is the CCSID used to get the message. This is demonstrated by the fact that when I change MQMON's browse CCSID, a different value is shown in the message descriptor CCSID. Is there any way to see which CCSID was used when the message was put?

Thanks. |

What happens when you use amqsbcg to display the message? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

It showed the original CCSID using ISPF panels to browse the message.

Maybe original CCSID will be provided with a future version of MQMON?

It would be useful when dealing with translation issues. |

On the message list windows, right before opening a single message, right-click on the message and in the context menue there is a "convert" option. if that is not ticked then you should see the message with the original ccsid.

worked for me. unticked i see CCSID 273 (z/OS), ticked i see CCSID 437 (runningMQMON on Windows Windows) _________________ Regards, Butcher |

Did you turn off the convert option on MQMON? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
