				Hi,

I am trying to implement a MB solution that needs to send out a fax on recieving a PDF message.

Any suggestions. I know that we may need to use some external java APIs to achieve it.

But if any one has implemented a solution, Inputs will be helpful

Thanks

What facilties are available to you to send a fax? Knowing this will enable us to better advise.

For instance, do you have a fax server that accepts http / tcp connections? A service that will fax an email attachment? What? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Products like RightFax can handle Emails to FAX (and vice-versa) and actually also has a MQ adapter.

There are also hosted services that can do this, it really depends what is to be used, since you don't wire WMB to the telephone network! |

We are trying to implement with Right fax only. At this point I am not sure we have the integration module of right fax which has MQ Adapter support.

Waiting on response from on that front. In the mean time I am trying to explore other available options

regards

From what I know of RightFax (which isn't much), in the absense of the adapter an email will be your best bet. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

				| You can also access the RightFax database directly from WMB as they provide the schema. We have a flow doing that. |

Do people use FAX machines anymore? I thought they went out of style before the turn of the century.

I guess some people still have landlines. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

It's not the first time I've seen this requirement.

You'd be amazed how many corporations are not stylish.

And the majority of them are corporations.

A lot of compainies have stuck with fax rather than get mixed up in the non-repudiation of emails (or WMQ messages). _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

	| I guess some people want to do things manually. You fax a document someplace, someone has to file it, track it manually during its life, and shred it when its done. Yuck! |

Or keep the piece of paper with a picture of someone's signature on it in a file so when the someone's employer / auditor / Federal Government agent asks why such and such a thing was done they can pull it out like a rabbit from a hat without explaining how the digital signature on the email proves conclusively who sent it.

Yes, I do know what this is and did mention it. A lot of companies either can't implement it, won't implement it, can't be bothered to understand it or fear it won't stand scrutiny in court.

I'm not saying it's a good system, or a bad system, I'm just saying a lot of businesses do it & it's not an uncommon requirement.

I'd be surprised (and as disapointed as you) if the fax being sent was an interdepartmental report. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

				| I would say most large companies receive them electronically from smaller business partners who haven't stopped using them. Sometimes they go directly into the documentation system as a image. They won't be processed on paper once received by RightFax. |
