* Simplified for productivity: fewer product components and prerequisities, IBM-supplied patterns for connectivity development, Message Broker Explorer for dedicated administration
 
* Connectivity for service oriented architecture (SOA): extended publish and subscribe capability better integrated with WebSphere MQ, new nodes for Web 2.0, interoperability, message sequencing, and enhanced adapter nodes for SAP Software, Siebel Business Applications, and PeopleSoft Enterprise
 
* Dynamic operational facilities for auditing, monitoring, and understanding Message Broker behavior and interactions with other products
 
* Connectivity with WebSphere Process Server via new nodes and WebSphere Business Monitor through a new event-generation mechanism Service Component Architecture (SCA)
