Hi all
I am a member of MQSeries.net forum and I am new to MQ.
I have a similar question to the one you have
Posted: 2001-07-27 .
I have to implement MQI Calls between MQ Series 5.2 and SQL Server 7.0. I have no idea if I have to use any Adapters for this or if there is any other way. If you have any info available with you or on INternet. Let me knwo.

| Not sure what you mean by MQI calls between a queue manager and a database? It almost sounds like you want to populate a database table with data from a message? If this is so, you will either have to write an application which gets messages from a queue and then performs SQL calls to insert the data into the table or else investigate the MQSI product which takes the majority of that work away from the programmers. |

Yes, there are adapters you can purchase to take MQSeries messages and do updates to a MSSQL database with very little configuration, but these can be costly. If you have application developers available who aren't afraid to venture into the world of MQSeries (valley of the shadow of death??) they can write the adaptor in one of many languages that MQI is available for. But no, MQSeries "out of the box" can't talk directly to a database, or any other external system for that matter.

Bduncan I would like to know the names of the adapters available in the market. my client is ready to buy things..
