What is the value of your DISPLAY variable?

				hi fjb_saper ,

I am trying to install from PUTTY .

I have not set anything into DISPLAY variable,

when i do echo $DISPLAY it is coming blank.

Can u tell me whether i need to install from any other client software and what variables need to be set.

The AIX machine where i am trying to install is already having IBM JRE 1.4.2 version installed. Do i need anything more ?

Appreciate u r help ..thanks |

				Finally i was able to install WBIAdapater Framework 2.6 on AIX 5.3.

The documentation is not in detail at IBM website.

Here is what i did -

In the AIX server 's .profile set the DISPLAY variable to <IP address of windowsmachine:0.0> ( i.e set DISPLAY = 164.128.188.200:0.0; export DISPLAY)

Installed HUMMINGBIRD software on my local machine.

Open Programs - > HummingBirdConnectivity -> Exceed -> Exceed.

Copy the setupAIX.bin and seup.jar files to the AIX folder.

(Also need to copy InstAIX53.sh,libaixppk.so).

From AIX server (Using PUTTY) run aixterm , it will open up another exceed window , from here u can do the install by executing ./InstAIX53.sh |
