Sounds like another job deciding SAP matters without including SAP people...
Usually SAP systems integrate via ALE and SAP native protocols (IDOCS).

The only advantage of adding MB to the mix is to integrate with multiple systems without the sending system being aware of the receiving systems....(kind of pub/sub type of integration).

But usually this is all determined through the SAP ALE landscape...
