I am receiving message from as400( ccsid 37). We have put cnvert =yes in sender channel coming from as400 to windows. The qmgr in windows has ccsid 437 ( not 1252). When I checked message in rfhutilc as data format as character and character format as ASCII, it displays garbage:

00000000 ÅÙÙÖÙ@@@@@∉—{@ððððððñð÷@`@Ó–.„

00000032 {@ððððððððð@`@Ö™„…™aÓ‰•…@ÙÖôñôðõ

00000064 ðððñaððñðð@`@×™–„¤ƒ£@×ÓÅÂóðãùÆÃ@

00000096 @@@@@`@ÖÙÄÅÙ@×ÁââÅÄ@Éâ@ÁÓÙÅÁÄè@Á

00000128 ââÉÇÕÅÄ@ãÖ@Á@ÓÖÁÄ@@@@@òðð÷ðöòððù

00000160 ññõð

When i changed the character format to ebcdic, it displays correctly:

00000000 ERROR xxx# 00000000 - xxxx

00000032 # 000000000 - xxxxx/yyyy x00000

00000064 0001/00100 - xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

00000096 - xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

00000128 xxxxxxxxxxxxxx 2007062009

00000160 1150

My question is when we do converstion, should not the character format be in ASCII?

Thanks a lot |

Only if the message format is set to string. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Do you mean that the message creating application in as400 side, should set the message as mqstr. Correct?

Thank you |
