				| I am trying to understand ESQL. What is the purpose of InputRoot and OutputRoot in the ESQL? It is not mentioned anywhere in the documentation. |

If I were you , I will try to understand the Broker concept first , then the nodes and esql code ...

Message is propagated from one node to the next node wired to it through eqsl statements

OutputRoot --->to manipulating messages to the next node(input to next node)

InputRoot --->to access the input in the particular node |

Did you hear/read about message parsing?

Did you hear/read about how the borker handles the message?

Did you hear/read about the message tree structure?

Did you hear/read how to access the message tree structure using ESQL?

Then you should have heared/read about Input/Output Root!

Gosh.

I go to the WMB Information Center, and I type "InputRoot" into the Search field, and I get

	| 86 results found for InputRoot |

If you aren't reading your documentation from an official source, like http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmbhelp/v6r0m0/index.jsp, then you should not be surprised if it's not correct. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
