| Migration of Websphere MQ 5.3 to Websphere MQ 6.0 on Solaris |

I am trying to migrate Websphere MQ 5.3 to websphere MQ 6.0 on Solaris 9 and I am having issues in Migration of Websphere MQ 5.3 to MQ 6.0 on Unix.
1) According to Migration document, it is saying that Uninstall Websphere MQ 5.3 and install Websphere MQ 6.0. Is it important to uninstall 5.3?
2) Second when I was trying to install through CD I am not seeing “mqlicense.sh”. Attached is the dump of the CD for Websphere MQ on Solaris SPARC platform:

3) Can you please let me know how to perform the installation if I am not using pkgadd? Also I don’t want to uninstall MQ 5.3 is it okay if it overwrites the files when I will try to install MQ 6.0?
4) I am able to migrate successfully in Windows environment without uninstalling MQ 5.3.
Please advice.

You have a bad CD image.
It has 8.3 file names, not the names it needs to have.

Yes, that is what it says in the Quick Beginnings and it is the only tested method, note that uninstalling does not remove any data or queue manager information although you should note the backup recommendations in the manual

Is that an original WebSphere MQ CD ? If so you do not have it mounted correctly, if it is a CD you have created yourself either you did not create it correctly for use on Solaris or it is not mounted correctly

You must use pkgadd
