				Hi -

I have a client who is running 4 special purpose servers with RedHat 7.2 & WMQ 5.3. They want to migrate to WMQ 6, but they do not want to upgrade RedHat Linux. Has anyone installed WMQ 6 on RH 7.2? If it runs will IBM support this configuration, since RH 7.2 does not show up as one of the supported Linux version for the product?

Thanks! |

I think you answered your own question there. |

Yes well that may be the case. However if WM5.3 goes out of service, and IBM will not support WMQ 6 on a back level of Linux then they are creating a situation that forces clients to upgrade their OS. Not exactly a winning proposition, considering the extra level of testing needed for all the other applications that may be running on such a system.

At any rate I am hoping to hear from one of the many IBM folks who monitor this board. |

I'm pretty sure you did (perhaps in a way THE IBM folk who monitors this board). |

Sigh! Yeah I should have figured.

It would still be nice to know if anyone has tried it supported or not. I will need to give it a try to satisfy the client’s requirements, unless anyone knows for sure that it won't work, and why, that info could save me some time and effort. |
