				| Hi guys!! well i am working on CWF to XML converter using cobolcopy book as my input message.

I am not a cobol guy, so i wud appreciate if somebody hepls me to undertand a field in copybook which says that XXX occurs 8 times.(XXX is 2bytes in length)

does this means that the XXX field may occur 1 to 8 times that is, is the copybook a variable lenth copybook?

 or

does it means that even if the data is not present in that field the total lenth wud be 8 * 2 bytes in length.

 Thanks in adv,
 Ajju.

				| Ajju,
It means XXX field occurs fixed number of times (8 times) in the input record, it's like defining an array with 8 index.
When you import this copybook into MRM, it will create an element XXX with min and max occurs set to 8, you can refer to this element like this,
 InputRoot.MRM.XXX[1] - First occurance.
 InputRoot.MRM.XXX[2] - Second occurance
 and so on...
