We are currently running the latest Version of MQSeries FTE v7.03 and have noticed that our templates vanished. WE could push them through manaually but would no longer run in a scheduled manner ,... even when they were resubmitted etc :

Eventually we opened an IBM PMR : PMR 16042,019,866

Details of the fix are below :

Dear customer,

On behalf of IBM support we have put new file(s) for you on our external ftp server ftp.emea.ibm.com:

Directory: /fromibm/pmr/16042,019,866

File: com.ibm.wmqfte.cmdline.jar 976925 bytes

Use the following URL(s) for a convenient download of the data:

ftp://ftp.emea.ibm.com/fromibm/pmr/16042,019,866/com.ibm.wmqfte.cmdline.jar

You may also logon manually to the ftp server and download the data.

You can obtain access to the file(s) via command "ftp ftp.emea.ibm.com"

Note: It is not possible to list the directory /fromibm/pmr. The "ls"

or "dir" command will return an error in this directory.

We suggest to use a "cd" command to change the current directory

to the directory in the list of files.

Your ECuRep team

Hello,

The change team has updated the PMR and provided the fix.

I put the fix on our ftp server. You should receive a separate email

with a download link. Here is their update:

I have uploaded the com.ibm.wmqfte.cmdline.jar file to the support_files

directory of this PMR on ecurep. This jar contains the fix for APAR

IC75781 built at 7.0.3 level.

This jar file needs to replace the same named jar file located in the

eclipse directory of the the customers WMQFTE tools install that the

MQExplorer is currently linked too.

The directory should be something like the following:

C:\WMQFTE_703\tools\eclipse\plugins\com.ibm.wmqfte.runtime_7.0.3.0\lib

Please can the customer make a backup copy of the previous

com.ibm.wmqfte.cmdline.jar that is in this location and place the new

jar in this location. MQ Explorer must be stopped to do this operation.

------------------------------------

Please let us know the results of applying the fix and if you have

any questions.

Regards, Jean

Thank you for using IBM products and support.

				Pete,

Please change your post. You should just reference the PMR and specify, if you have it the corresponding APAR number... and state that you received a fix from IBM.

Posting the full IBM response is too long and serves little purpose....

Please edit your post and update.

The PMR process represents a private and internal conversation between an individual IBM customer and IBM.

If it happens that you are that individual customer, it is certainly within your rights to publish the information in that conversation. IBM will not do so, except in abstract.

But doing so may be in violation of your own company's rules on handling of confidential information.

But I assure you that the ftp link you have provided is not going to be valid forever, nor even for very much longer. the longest those files are allowed to live there is about two weeks.

So four years from now, when someone tries to click on it, they will find that it is no good. |

				On the contary,

But IBM support use a system called Retain still.

If users calling can quote a PMR no then it will obvioulsy assist the support reps. and users to get to the bottom of issues more quickly. And yes Links may change, But mentioning a PMR will help. If you disagree then your entitlled to your opinion.

And i don't personally mind people quoting a PMR no that was raised between my own personal company and IBM. If it helps users i feel it should remain.

You may disagree and thats your perogative.

Any way have a good day

Rgds

I happen to know a thing or two about retain and about ECUREP and how the PMR process works.

I am not disagreeing with your choice to post it here. I am explaining that there are good reasons why you may not have wanted to do so, and good reasons why you may chose to remove a fair bit of the data you have posted.

And I repeat. Your FTP link absolutely will not be valid for very much longer. So posting it provides absolutely no value at all. |
