When I try double clicking on the .msi I go through the dialogue and receive the message that the installer is installing Eclipse. Then I receive the error display = Internal Error 2755.3 etcEtc.msi

When I try a silent install via:

reading that output I'd try swapping the /qf and the path to the msi file...

that is, I'd put “w:\Middleware\MQ6.0\Prereqs\IES\MSI\IBM WebSphere Eclipse Platform V3.3.msi" as the first argument. |

 I have already tried:

	| Code: |

	| msiexec /i “w:\Middleware\MQ6.0\Prereqs\IES\MSI\IBM WebSphere Eclipse Platform V3.3.msi"  /qf  /l*v c:\Temp\EclipseInstall.log /m mif_file TARGETDIR="d:\Program files\IBM\Eclipse SDK30" TRANSFORMS=1033.mst AGREETOLICENSE=“yes” ADDLOCAL=“Base”
|

with the same results. Maybe its PMR time?
I thought that there might be something hidden in the command that was screwing it up. So I typed the command over again and tried. This time I did not get the display panel with the input parameter documentation etc. The log looks like this:

I FOUND THIS DOING A GOOGLE ON MSIEXEC error code 3

2203

Database: [2]. Cannot open database file. System error [3].

How does that help? There shouldn't be a DB involved. |

Were those Windows “smart quotes” in the original command? If so, try replacing them with ASCII "double quotes". |

 reKarm,

I don't know what they were. I too noticed that they did not display correctly. So I retyped the entire command making sure to use double quotation marks. The results were decidedly different.

I no longer get the display telling me what the options are for msiexec

I now get a log file, the contents of which is posted above.

The log file shows a 2203 error with a system return of 3.

This is supposed to indicate an error opening a database. What database? |
