				Hi All,

I am currently using WMQ:

Name: WebSphere MQ

Version: 530.6 CSD06

Running on Solaris 8.

I am a newbie and am trying to troubleshoot why the curdepth for a particular queue has been the same for the past couple of days:

This is at 6pm

   QUEUE(COFFEE.RPOS.PROGRAM.REPLY) IPPROCS(4)

   OPPROCS(1) CURDEPTH(2770)

This is at 6am

   QUEUE(COFFEE.RPOS.PROGRAM.REPLY) IPPROCS(0)

   OPPROCS(0) CURDEPTH(2770)

How do I display those messages in CURDEPTH? So that I can pass them to developers and so they can troubleshoot?

Please advice. |

You need to upgrade. I say "you" in the sense of "your site". This version is out of support.

I would theorise that these messages have not been committed by the sending application. Tell the developers they need to troubleshoot that, and work out why it's not completing UOW.

As for strategies to deal with uncommitted messages, check the documentation and search the forum. It's been talked about in here.

Happy Reading, and welcome to the world of WMQ! _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Use amqsbcg

On Solaris it should be in /opt/mqm/samp/bin

provided you installed mq samples |

				This is at 6am

QUEUE(COFFEE.RPOS.PROGRAM.REPLY) IPPROCS(0)

OPPROCS(0) CURDEPTH(2770)

So nobody is looking for a message anymore. (IPPROCS(0)).

My guess is that the messages you see in curdepth are obsolete and violated the apps SLA in otherwords: arrived too late, with no expiry set, and the listening process had already received a timeout.
