				Hi MBIans,

Please help me in tuning the performance of my WMB6.0(migrated from 2.1) message flows

1)I am using about 15-20 Environment variables accross the message flow

I just want to know, whether setting reference to Environment variables will increase the performance

for eg:

SET Enviroment.Variables.ApplicationId=INREF.APPID

changing this by creating reference

Declare ENV reference to Environment.Variables

SET ENV.ApplicationId=INREF.APPID

whether using such reference, will increase the performance of the flow

2)Whether using Mapping node instead of compute node for mapping will increase the performance of the flow

Please reply

thanks in advance |

Use references where you have a complex tree and you are planning to map, say atleast 3 or more elements deep inside the tree structure....references improve performance, but such small ones as u have used will display a very minimal time difference, or none...

I personally don't see the sense in creating a reference to map only one field with that reference...the time taken to create that reference itself could have been used for mapping....not sure, but my thinking is so...

A mapping node will write esql for you in the backend....you could say it will improve performance as the esql will be of good standards and performance based...but then that too will depend on how good/bad you are at coding and will have to tested to see if it improves anything...

You'll find a lot of topics on the same line, perhaps you should go through them too.

If your esql mapping is well done and uses references to avoid walking the tree each time stay with it.

We have seen a 20% time gain over the mapping node that way. I figure it is mostly because the mapping node maps each element from the top of the tree... And then there are the little things that are quite difficult to map...and go way easier in esql...
