				| How do you give somebody authority to set somebody absent using the setAbsent API call? |

				What have you tried.

I never did this but ADMIN should be able to do it.

Maybe the manager of the person. I am not sure though. |

I believe that you need Staff Authority.

And as Venny says, ADMIN can definitely do this. _________________ John McDonald

				| Thanks for the input. The users have got staff Authority. It seems like the only other people are the person's manager. |

I am doing this currently so I am not sure what your problem is with this. Here is the doc from the Pgming guide:

Authorization One of the following:

Users can change the absence attribute in their own person record.

Users who have Staff authorization.

The system administrator.

In my case I also have access to the workitems of the person I am attempting to set absent, but as you can see that is not required based on the doc. You could however, try that, and maybe there is a bug in the doc.

				| Thanks guys, I really appreciate the responses. It seems like the deployment of the user org structure was not successful. After checking the file and redeploying the problem seemed to solve itself. |
