				Hi Everyone,

Is it possible to configure a queue manager to raise an alarm (say send email notification) when the number of message in the queue exceed a certain number? We are using MQ on a SunSolaris box.

  Thanks in Adance,

By default MQ do not support this functionality. But you can use Queue Depth Events and write an application in Java to send an email. Else u can use a third party monitoring tool. _________________ siliconfish |

For more info on MQ Events please take a look at WebSphere MQ Event Monitoring manual. _________________ Kiran

Or you can write your own scripts to check the depth of a Queue and alert if it reaches a certain threshold. _________________ Yes, I am an agent of Satan but my duties are largely ceremonial. |

				Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all your replies. Writing a script to monitor the queues seems simple and stright forward, at least on Unix machines. I will try that approach and get back to you.
