Brad.

You have won my sympathy after all. Due to everything beyond your control, you find yourself in a situation with no easy resolution.

You are being asked to fix the surrounding environment to tolerate a mis-written application - a political quagmire at best.

I would like to suggest that, once the dust settles, you take the oppurtunity to use this as a learning tool for programmers and management on the need for tighter QC and keeping more current on important o/s and server software.

As an interim solution, you could write an application that takes the inbound messages, corrects the Format field, and places them in the queue where the existing application is getting the 2110 rc.
