Only by removing the affinity from the solution. To extend your example, if we received an "update profile" for a non-existent profile (because we'd received the update before the create) we'd obviously fail the update and push it to a "pending" store. The create profile would arrive, work, and trigger a sweep of the pending store for anything with the same id. An end-of the-day process swept the pending store for anything stilll outstanding and items which still failed were errored out.
