I kinda like the Douglas Adams Theory:

Quote:
There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

Actually, this relies on an alarm clock....

And, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" opens this weekend....

I didn't say what the act of faith was IN. I have a lot of faith in my alarm clock.

Yeah, I've been reading the Hitchhikers Serie's yet again. I purchased "The Ulimate Hitchhiker's Guide" from ThinkGeek. It has all five of the books in the "Trilogy" plus a previously unpublished short story call Zaphod Plays it Safe.

Good stuff.

Next I think I'll read the Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency Series again.

the real question to ask is

In 100 years when none of us are here will we care?

If everyone said that instead of actually discussing issues, we'd still be in the stone age

Actually no we wouldnt as the argument that is being discussed would come into play and as the saying goes

"necessity is the mother of invention"

man would advance as and when dictated the biggest leaps in techology nearly always happen in times of war as can be seen from the 20th century!!!!!

How will we know?

my point exactly

---------

it is right to discuss these matters and i enjoy discussing them but a persons views should not be held against them no matter what they say!!!!

if a person truly believes in something then to them it is right!

it may not be right to someone else but hey thats life!!!!

---------

as for Darwins theories look at the stuff whereby an island is totally isolated, the creaturs that inhabited the island did not advance as much as creatures elswhere!!!!

I agree completely!

But that doesn't mean you can't joke with them about it.

I would have thought that had more to do with adaptation than Darwinism! Why adapt more if you are already perfectly adapted for the environment you are calling home?

but Darwin's theories stated that some species evolved to handle a change in conditions etc (or words to that effect)

from sublime to ridiculous

Jurassic park

They used a certain type of frog dna to fill in the gaps missing in the dino dna

they bred the dinos to only be famle but what happened

as in nature the frogs changed chromosome and suddenly the dinos started breeding!!

or the converse is true whereby if no reasons exist to change then no change will be required.!
