				Hi all.

I am currently using message broker v5 and I'm experiencing some strange errors (which I won't go into just now because they are message broker specific). I am checking my environment is all correct and I have concerns over MQ.

On Solaris I have MQ 5.3 CSD8. The person that set this up for me assured me CSD8 was installed, but when I do an "mqver" it just shows 5.3 is installed (no mention of CSD8). I pointed this out to the person who installed MQ but he said he'd "never heard" of mqver and said the thing to use is "pkginfo | grep mqm" - which does indeed show both MQ 5.3 and CSD8 as present.

Should I take his word for it based on this? I am naturally concerned that because mqver doesn't show CSD8, that this means there is a problem with the CSD and I should ask him to reinstall.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks. |

On my Solaris box, I have something called /opt/mqm/ptf_installed. This ptf_installed file contains:

which confirms I have CSD4 on this machine. mqver agrees.

What does this file say on your machine?

I agree with fjb_saper though, mqver needs to be correct, otherwise retry the CSD install. _________________ Peter Potkay

				Hi,

It might be an idea to ask him to check the package:

If you have root you can of course do it yourself as well.

Cheers

Reapplied the patch - now both mqver and pkginfo are showing CSD8 - so all is well. Still hasn't fixed my problem with the message broker but that's another story.

Thanks to all for your help. |
