In that directory(/opt/mqm/READMES/en_US) i have only a readme file. there is no memo.ptf file.

one question

if memo.ptf file is not there in that directory means that no CSD is applied for MQSeries V 5.0 ? _________________ chandra mouli

On HP-UX there is the additonal command dspmqver which gives slightly different information than mqver. Its output is closer to the Sun output from mqver.

Wonder why they give two commands that are so similar? |

It showed up in 5.3; I don't find it on my 5.2 HP-UX systems.

Just for comparison, here is the output from mqver on 5.2:

	| Quote: |

	mqver

MQSeries Version: 520

CMVC level: p520-CSD04G

BuildType: IKAP - (Production)

 |

...and here is mqver on 5.3:

	| Quote: |

	mqver

Name: WebSphere MQ

Version: 530

CMVC level: p530-04-030617

BuildType: IKAP - (Production)

 |

...and here is dspmqver on 5.3:

	| Quote: |

	dspmqver

Name: WebSphere MQ

Version: 530.4 CSD04

CMVC level: p530-04-030617

BuildType: IKAP - (Production)

 |

These are all HP-UX; Sun has mqver only and its output is identical to the HP-UX dspmqver. |

				MQSERIES B.10.500.00 MQSeries for HP-UX

Is 5.0 base.

If swlist isn't showing anything else you may not have any CSDs installed.

I'm not sure if it was mentioned but mqver is fairly new. It's not in 5.1 or prior, maybe not in some CSDs of 5.2.

Good Luck
