				 Hi All,

Here is my cluster scenario ...

I have a cluster in which it has 2 queue managers "MSPDTE02405" and "TYPHOO". In these "MSPDTE02405" is residing on one(my) machine and "TYPHOO" queue manager is residing on another machine. I have a cluster queue called USRXX.MYACCOUNT.MQSI.INPUT on "TYPHOO". For this clustered queue i have an alias queue "GFSCAMS.REG_USR.SYNC.OUTPUT.REQUEST" on "MSPDTE02405".

Now when i am trying to place a message to "GFSCAMS.REG_USR.SYNC.OUTPUT.REQUEST" using MQ-Base java my application is working fine and its placing a message to actual queue "USRXX.MYACCOUNT.MQSI.INPUT ".

But when i am trying to do the same using MQ/JMS (with JNDI) its giving an error

"2008 - failed to open MQQueue".

( I created lookup for queue manager MSPDTE02405 and alias queue GFSCAMS.REG_USR.SYNC.OUTPUT.REQUEST using JMSAdmin tool).

Any one having idea , reply me asap.

Thanks

				Hi Eswar,

RC=2008, tells me you are trying to do an MQINQ:

This is taken just from the books:

MQRC_CHAR_ATTRS_TOO_SHORT

Not enough space allowed for character attributes.

For MQINQ calls, CharAttrLength is not large enough to

contain all of the character attributes for which

MQCA_* selectors are specified in the Selectors

parameter.

The call still completes, with the CharAttrs parameter

string filled in with as many character attributes as

there is room for. Only complete attribute strings

are returned: if there is insufficient space remaining

to accommodate an attribute in its entirety, that

attribute and subsequent character attributes are

omitted. Any space at the end of the string not used

to hold an attribute is unchanged.

An attribute that represents a set of values (for

example, the Names attribute) is treated as a single

entity--either all of its values are returned, or

none.

Corrective action: Specify a large enough value,

unless only a subset of the values is needed.

And it's only (should be) MQINQ that are able to give you that Reason code

I hope it helps...

				Hi Jørgen Pedersen,

Thanks for your concern..

Actually 2008 error i am talking about is not MQ-Message code , it is MQJMS error code.

Thanks & Regards

Eswar

				Eswar,

You need to extract the Linked Exception from the JMS Exception to see the MQ Return and Reason codes that will pinpoint your error.

Cheers,
