We are using Mercator Integration Broker V6.7 with Websphere MQ 5.3 on AIX Operating System V5.2.The MQ Queue Manager on

AIX Box is communicating with AS400 queue Manager. We are using Websphere MQ distributed queueing.

At AIX Box,we have 60+ local queues has been defined and have 60+ listeners Mercator Maps, which will pick up the messages

from the Local Queues.

We are experiencing problem with Websphere Queue Manager Hanging in AIX Box,because of this no communication is happening

to AS-400 QMgr.So in this scenario we have to bring down the Websphere MQ Queue Manager abnormally by killing all the

processes. In this context we even have to bring down and start the Mercator Event Server.Without starting the Mercator Server

it is not Picking up the messages from the queues.

Normally when queue manager hangs, it generates the Following FDC's

We are in touch with IBM Support,They had come up with certain suggestions with Applying Certain APAR to AIX Operating

System, and suggested to Set the environment Variables to AIXTHREAD_SCOPE=S and AIXTHREAD_MNRATIO=1:1. But nothing

Worked out yet. Even we rebooted the AIX box. But the Queue Manager still hangs.

Does anyone using Websphere MQ 5.3 on AIX Box experienced this problem. Please do give some tips and suggestions regarding

this.Even i have a doubt whether the Mercator Listeners is causing the problem to hang Websphere MQ , as there were 60 Listeners

listening for incoming messages.

Thanks and Regards

I would suggest the problem is caused by a combination of Mercator with MQ.

It may not be releasing connections/resources and causing your QM to fall over.

I last used Mercator 4 years ago, and in my honest opinion the event server was the biggest pile of junk I have ever seen. I sincerely hope the quality of the product has improved since then. |
