Ask Mr Google to find you some tutorials. Git has a number of different models aside from the base / delta CVS model; it's much more collaborative.

Hey

I am using Egit plugin with the IIB Toolkit and it works great
at the beginning I had some problems but I figured it out.

first of all you need to use org.eclipse.egit.repository-2.1.0.201209190230-r version

after use get it from -
http://archive.eclipse.org/egit/updates-2.1
(you can find all versions here -http://wiki.eclipse.org/EGit/FAQ#Where_can_I_find_older_releases_of_EGit.3F)

Very important!
You need to start the toolkit as administrator
then you chose to install plugin, and select the EGit folder,
then - you don't chose all the plugin just -
Eclipse EGit
Eclipse EGit - Source
EGit Project Set Support

and this is good enough.
Then after you restart the workspace, you can find new Git Windows, use the Git Repositories to create or Clone and new Repo

Tell me if you have other questions or problems

Good luck

You need to use the correct version -
2.1.0.201209190230-r 2012-09-26 http://archive.eclipse.org/egit/updates-2.1 updates-2.1

Any higher version is not supported with the IIB eclipse version ..

orman is giving you screen captures, couldn't be clearer.

Seems you are not reading (a very old reply to your question).

Eclipse Git Team Provider

- EGit Project Set Support 2.1.0.201209190230-r
JGit

I think even just the Eclipse EGit good enough to install the plugin

The project set is no need ..
Try to install without it
