Broker v6 goes out of support in April of next year.

Upgrade to v6.1 at least, and then use FileOutput. |

You can easily tell them that the requirement can't be met until they migrate.

There's no mechanism to run the FileOutput node in version 6.0.

I don't believe there's a SupportPac version either.

There is no mechanism in ESQL to write out to files. That is not true of other programming options you have in Broker. |

try email with attachment in .csv format or use Java compute node _________________ IBM ->Let's build a smarter planet |

Would suggest a JavaCompute node, as there are a couple of decent java-based open-source solutions to work with Excel files directly:

This one I have used previously, works fine:

http://jexcelapi.sourceforge.net/

This one I haven't worked with, but may be better supported.

http://poi.apache.org/

Of course, you can probably generate a CSV file without using these libraries, if that's what you want to do. |

you could take the sample WMQ program amqsput.c and make a few simple changes (buffer size and change the open to read a supplied parameter and then to read the whole file as a single record and then send it to Broker over WMQ.

Anyone half decent in C coding could do it in under 30 minutes.

Then you have an app to stick in your dev toolbox. Want to send any form of data that could reside in a file to Broker over MQ, and there you go... The star of the show,

It is fast and quick.

Hacking some Java is not the only solution. (only saying...) _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Once it's been put by MQOutput, it's not a Broker problem any more.

There's more than one reason MQ FTE has been augmented to handle File->Queue/Queue->File... |

I get fond memories of my days as a junior integration developer when I used some open source Excel ODBC adapter to integrate to excel, treating the file as a database.

It actually turned out quite well, each book would be a table, and you did get row queries etc.

Might be an option? Probably depends on the complexity of your excel integration.

But I heavily suggest a csv file based integration instead to minimize your moving parts. _________________ IBM Certified Solution Developer - WebSphere Message Broker V6.1
