Yeah, What I'm doing is a VB6.0 application on Window platform.
And that's the problem why i failed to MQPUT byte array, MQGET byte array, take that piece of byte array and write to file using VB6.0. |

The title of the web page you cited says:
Coding in Visual Basic
Visual Basic is supported only on Windows.
Was there something in the details of the web page (that I didn't read) that is of interest? If so, copy it here. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

"To avoid unintended translation of binary data passing between Visual Basic and WebSphere MQ, use an MQBYTE definition instead of MQSTRING. " |

I wish he had started a different thread for the file transfer questions...
On the connection question: What am I missing here? It appears he has an app running on an MQ server and he is putting into a remote queue (serviced, of course, by a sender/receiver pair). Why are we giving him advice about limiting channel connections? It doesn't matter if he has 1 or 200 or 500 applications putting and getting, he is still using a single channel.
Enlighten me, O Wise Ones. |
Yes, you are right, so instead of limiting channel connections, can we limit application connection to QM? |
This question is more suited to the part I split out but for the purposes of answering your question (and hopefully SAFraser's) the only way to limit the number of WMQ-aware applications connecting to a queue manager is either to deny them connect privileges (using OAM, although why you'd do this is beyond me - if the application needs to connect to WMQ you need to let it), or don't install them on the server hosting the queue manager. In short, the answer is that it would all be in the planning.
Any further questions on this subject in the other post please... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
