The only reasonable, useful, and supported way for end users to manipulate the contents of the ConfigMgr internal repository is to use the ConfigMgr Proxy API.
The structure and storage mechanisms of that repository are irrelevant to all general uses, and if it is in any way helpful to manipulate that directly, then the only mechanism to DO that manipulation is through a PMR.
Any attempt to use open source or other mechanisms to connect to the Derby database while the ConfigMgr is shut down will not be supported and is a bad idea. |

There is no Database related to confir manager. most probably They have asked you for the Broker D/B
If they had... then I would have posted diff. question then this. I know the difference. |
your question psoted earlier does not say this..
Could some one please let me know where and how can I open the configuration manager database in unix/its flavors ?

And... I would like to drag you back to : how can I open the configuration manager repository in unix/its flavors ? |
Why do you want to open the CMG repository at Unix....? You can not open that... A Confgi mgr repostroy built in the toolkit environment...
mqsicmrv is a windows command so you can use it in a windows MB toolkit environment only... not the Unix one...
Also please note that A final word of caution about mqsicmrv: do not rely on the information provided by these commands to remain constant from release to release, or even from fixpack to fixpack. The commands are only for diagnosing problems. |

From one of the mouths I heard, when the Config. Mgr. is defined on the Windows server and the Broker(s) on the AIX servers and there are channels between them to communicate |
No matter what platforms the components are defined on, and even if they're on the same platform or the same physical machine then they communicate via WMQ channels.

..through the FIREWALL/NETWORK complexities, sometimes the database (or correctly REPOSITORY) of config. mgr. gets in an ASYNC mode (non synchronization mode) with the Broker DataBase (or Broker Informations) due to Network Issues THEN we got to take care of the Config.Mgr. REPOSITORY in sync. (with or without the consultation of IBM...mostly and recommended as...with IBM ). |
Not how I would have phrased it, neither ConfigMgr nor Broker have a "mode". In the rare events where the ConfigMgr does not correctly record the state of the Broker there are supported methods of correcting this that do not involve manually fiddling with the database. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Apologies...
by 'Mode' ..doesn't mean the predefined state of the config. mgr. and its repository.
We can take it as a 'state'. _________________ *Life will beat you down, you need to decide to fight back or leave it. |
