That refers to a DB3 switchfile whereas kailashbawane is using Oracle - I don't know if there is a difference to how the switchfile(s) should be located.

Yes I appreciate it's a different database. But the rules on how/where to specify the switch load file are the same for all.

And in that case the switch file was located in /directory/sub-directory/switchfile, where the directory was the user application root directory.

Queue manager and application processes were all 32-bit at MQ 5.3 so only one switch load file was needed across the whole system.

The information on how to set up for v6 was modified as I pointed out in the URL I gave. The new setup for v6 has to take account of the fact that both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the switch load file are needed at run time, because 64-bit processes will need to load it, and any 32-bit applications need to load it too.

The scheme for where to place them is as stated at that URL. Possibly another one too elsewhere, but I found that one first and posted it.

I hope this helps

Immensely, thank you. Yet another aspect of why I need to get my head back in the manuals and update myself not just on what I'm doing now, but also what I have done in the past.

0509-103
The module has an invalid magic number.'. The queue manager will continue
without this module.

EXPLANATION:
This message applies to AIX systems. The shared library
'/var/mqm/exits/jdbcora_10G' failed to load correctly due to a problem with the

Do a search on magic number and check again the doc. You have trouble with keeping your 32bit stuff apart from your 64 bit stuff and they don't mix well.
