				Hi,

I want to upgrade my installation to the latest pack,

but I am a bit confused here.

I have :

$ dspmqver

Name: WebSphere MQ

Version: 530

CMVC level: p000-L021011

BuildType: IKAP - (Production)

And the Fix Pack 13 is for both versions 5.3 and 5.3.1 ... Do I not need to upgrade to 5.3.1 first or is that part of that pack ?

Thanks and regards,

No need to go to 5.3.0.1 first just install the fixpack, but note that MQ 5.3 is out of support in a few more days. _________________ Cheers,

Note as well that 5.3.1 is a zOS version and will be out of support April 30th 2008...

Your command shows a distributed version.

Move to 6.0.2.2 _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Does CSD13 include CSD 1 to 12 or do I have to install those as well?

CSDs are cumulative, so CSD 13 will contain everything up to that point.

But I repeat the comments of others - you're better off upgrading to v6. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I totally agree on you upgrading to 6 is the best solution to go, but the patches I can download from the site, and a new licence for 6 is gonna be negociating again I am afraid

Thanks for your comments !!!

Can 6 talk to 5.3 without any problems? Because most of our customers still have 5.3 as well.

Thanks,

The search button will reveal many posts on this subject.....

Briefly the major inconsistency is where v5.3 & v6 are in the same cluster. The v5.3 queue managers will not honour the new parameters.

For the less brief version, see the earlier posts. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
