We’ve developed a WBIMB V5 message flow to access data on a mainframe DB2 database. The Broker (Windows) is part of an Active/Passive Microsoft Cluster environment.

When the entire mainframe DB2 subsystem (subsystem is what mid-tier folks refer to as INSTANCE) is brought down for routine maintenance, each time a message is put on the input queue, the execution group (EXGRP) on the BROKER fails causing a .dmp & .abend file to be created in the /wbimb/errors directory. The EXGRP also fails then restarts, impacting all other MessageFlows in that EXGRP.

Is there something we can configure to avoid an Execution

Group crashing just because the remote DB server (in this case the

mainframe's DB system) is N/A. You would think it could just report an

error in the event viewer and not crash.

				Hi,

Are you testing SQL return codes in your message flow? If yes, what do you do if you have a connection failure?

Abends should always be followed immediately by a PMR.

Are you running the most recent FP of v5? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

				Jeff,

We've opened a PMR, just looking for add'l input. Current WBIMB is V5.0.1.4. Will be V6 by year end.

Thanks Lisa,

I'll check with our developers who create the code.
