The error message you posted shows that the ODBC data source is NOT using the Merant/DataDirect driver.

You are doing wrong by not using the driver mgk specifies.

No-one is disputing that when you create a connection using these other ODBCs and test it all works fine. We accept that. You need to accept that unless you use the supplied ODBC the broker won't connect.
