				I have just installed MQ Series 5.2.1 & CSD03 on a Windows 2000 Terminal Server, running SP1.

I can create a Q Manager no problem at all, but it keeps ending unexpectedly. This can be restarted via Terminal Client and it shows as running but if I use the NT Resource file rcmd to connect to the server it shows that it is still down.

Are there any issues with MQ Series running on a Windows 2000 Server?

Sorry about the Vagueness |

There is no issue with MQSeries 5.2.1 running on Windows 2000 server.

I think you should install SP2 on Windows 2000 server.

There is a problem with using MQSeries through Terminal Services. Try using VNC or PCAnywhere instead. _________________ Kiran

Rammer, we found that Terminal Services remote control was not acceptable for working with MQSeries. We use IBM Netfinity Director remote console instead.

IBM suggests not using it and I have a copy of an IBM response to this if you want it.

According to IBM support, MQSeries will not work, and is not supported, when using Windows Terminal Server. _________________ Matt Feenstra

Our server team attempted to install the MA7B (ActiveX Components for V5.0) on a Windows 2000 server via Terminal Services Client. Kept getting a Windows error (can't run a 16 bit program). I've had this pack installed on multiple Windows 2000 server without any prior problems, but all were on-site installs.

In light of the conversation here, has anyone had any problems installing patches/packs via Terminal Services? |

Yup, MA7K (Trigger Monitor Service) did not install cleanly thru MTS. Once I installed it locally, no problems. _________________ Peter Potkay
