 MQ Series, now called WebSphere MQ is a Message Oriented Middleware.

		  I've used the Java API for WebSphere MQ with MQ 6.  I haven't used JMS yet.

		  Also read the Intercommunications Manual. Yes, it is big, but if you want to understand the concept of MQ and how/why it works, I think that is the best manual.
