I have MQseries 5.3 and a stand-alone jav based mq application for send and receiving messages.
I would like to use transactions and I was going through System Administration manual for configuring Oracle.
My question is does Oracle DB need to be on the same machine as MQSeries on? Configuration setup is considering the Oracle DB on the same machine.
Thanks
Shiva. |

I have seen it asking for setting ORACLE_HOME and so! If Oracle is not there on the same box, how do you proceed?
Thanks

You still need ORACLE client installed on the machine where MQ is running. That is why ORACLE_HOME comes in to picture.
