Hello,
I'm having a problem in which probably an application took out a 30+ days of messages from a queue and I need to find out why or what caused this event so that it doesnt happen in the future.
I checked the error logs and couldn't find anything related to MQ failure, so it must have been an application I believe
Can anyone help me where to start looking?
Also is there a way to recover the messages?
Thank you!
If the recovery logs haven't cycled since the incident, and the messages are persistent, then the recovery logs they will include some details on how the messages were consumed. The recovery logs can only be viewed when the QMgr isn't running, using the dmpmqlog utility. Not many people have much skill in reading these logs.
If you are using linear logging, and the recovery logs haven't been deleted since the messages were consumed then the messages will still be in the recovery logs. There's no easy way for a customer to recover the queue to a point in time, however IBM could do this if it was absolutely critical.
